As pet owners, you know how important it is for your furry friends to go outside and get active. But perhaps you don’t have the backyard space to fulfill your pets’ active needs.
There is nothing like spending time outside with your pet and having quality time with them. Luckily for pet parents, the Bay Area offers some excellent animal-friendly spots that you, and especially your pet dogs, can enjoy. Here are some good ones to spend a weekend getaway – or even a just a day out – with your beloved pet animals:
1) Lands End Trail
Located on Point Lobos Avenue in San Francisco, Lands End Trail has long been a favorite Bay Area place for dogs and their humans. Along the way, you will discover heart-stopping views and several historical landmarks. During the springtime, wildflowers will add a splash of color to what in any season is a stroll through breathtaking view another, all set to the sound of the crashing sea waves. However, most trekkers and their four-legged friends find it best to hike during the fall, where the weather is more stable.
The stunning trail also features a wild and windy path on North America’s coastline, complete with stunning vistas of the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge from many different angles. If you plan to go there, make sure that you keep your dog on a leash at all times.
2) Cavallo Point
If you and your pets are looking for some high-end pampering, Cavallo Point should be your next destination. Located in Sausalito, this luxurious hotel regales pets and their owners with lavish amenities. These include custom-made food and luxurious bedding. There is also a dog-friendly room (located on the first floor), where only up to two dogs are allowed, and a patio adjoining to a resort bar and a Michelin-starred restaurant.
3) Del Valle Regional Park
Located ten miles south of Livermore, the Del Valle Regional Park is a 5,000-acre part of the East Bay Regional Park District. It has 67 miles worth of trails from which you and your pooch will choose to hike to your heart’s content. Or if you don’t feel like hiking, you can hang out at the marina. Or camp for a few nights. Whatever you’ll choose, Del Valle has you covered.

With its rustic, style, the place gives off strong nostalgic vibes.
